Are Crystal Quest Systems NSF Certified? How Our Certifications Work

Certification in water filtration happens at two different levels, and knowing the difference makes it much easier to compare systems accurately. Crystal Quest is a U.S. water filtration manufacturer, founded in 1994, with systems hand-assembled in Georgia.

How Our Certifications Work

• Component level: NSF/ANSI certified. The components and media that go into Crystal Quest systems are certified under the applicable NSF/ANSI standards at the component level. That means the individual parts your system is built from have been independently certified.
• Company level: ISO 9001. Crystal Quest holds ISO 9001 certification for its quality management system. This certifies the processes we build, document, and test by, so every system is assembled under the same controlled, audited procedures.

What We Do Not Claim

Crystal Quest does not market its finished systems as NSF certified, and we do not hold a company-level NSF certification. Finished-system certification is a separate, per-model process, and we believe it is important to state our certifications exactly as they are. If you ever see a listing that describes a Crystal Quest finished system as NSF certified, contact us so we can correct it.

Start From Your Water, Not the Label

For most customers the practical question behind "is it NSF certified?" is really "will it handle my contaminant?" That depends on the treatment technology, the media configuration, and your specific water chemistry, which is why we recommend starting from a water test rather than a label. The section below shows how to use certifications well when evaluating any system, ours included.

How to Use Certifications When Evaluating a System

1. Know the two levels of certification. Component-level certification covers the individual parts and media inside a system. System-level certification covers a specific finished model tested as a whole. Both are legitimate; they simply certify different things. Crystal Quest certification is at the component level, plus ISO 9001 at the company level.
2. Use NSF/ANSI standard numbers as benchmarks for your concern. NSF/ANSI standards are objective industry benchmarks. Broadly: NSF/ANSI 42 covers aesthetic effects (chlorine taste and odor), NSF/ANSI 53 covers health-related contaminants (such as lead), NSF/ANSI 58 covers reverse osmosis performance, and NSF/ANSI 401 covers emerging contaminants. Knowing which standard maps to your concern tells you which questions to ask about any filter you evaluate.
3. Start from your water, not the label. A certification cannot tell you whether a system is sized and configured for your water. Get a recent water test, identify the contaminant and its level, and match the treatment technology to it. Our team does this routinely and can walk you through your results.
4. For a specific contaminant such as arsenic, ask us for the performance picture. Arsenic treatment depends on the arsenic species, its concentration, and your water chemistry. Contact support with your water test and we will recommend the right configuration and share the supporting performance information for the media involved.
5. For commercial, engineering, or spec-driven projects, request documentation. If your project requires certification paperwork (component certification documentation or our ISO 9001 certificate), request it through support and we will provide what applies.
