How Do I Return My System, and Is a Return My Best Option?

Often the fastest fix is not a return at all. Many returns turn out to be a setup step, a closed valve, normal new-system break-in, or the wrong cartridge that we can simply exchange.

A quick check with our support team usually solves the issue in less time than shipping a system back and waiting for a refund, so the best first step is to contact support and describe what is happening. If a return or exchange is still the right call after that, we will help you start it. Depending on the situation, the better option may be an exchange or a credit rather than a full return, and we will walk you through it.

How Returns Work: The RMA Number

When a return is approved, a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number is issued and appears on the return label so the warehouse can match your package to your order when it arrives. Do not ship anything back without contacting support first, because a package that arrives without an RMA can be delayed or unmatched.

Safety Before You Start

  • If your reason for returning involves a leak, electrical issue, or water you suspect is unsafe, stop using the system, shut off the feed water and power as applicable, and tell support in your first message.
  • Depressurize and drain a system before disconnecting it for return: shut off the feed water and open a faucet or the system valve to relieve pressure, so you do not get sprayed or leave water in the lines during packing.

What to Try First, Step by Step

  • Contact support before returning anything. Describe the problem, your system or part, and your original order number. Many issues are resolved on the spot or with a short video call.
  • Rule out the quick fixes first:
  • Let support recommend the best path. Based on what you describe, support may resolve the issue, send a replacement part, set up an exchange, or approve a return.
  • If a return or exchange is approved, we will issue an RMA number. It will appear on the return label. Keep the original packaging where possible and pack the item so it is protected in transit.
  • Ship it back using the provided label and RMA, then watch for confirmation once the warehouse receives and processes it.

A Note on Return Terms

Returns and exchanges follow current Crystal Quest policy. The terms below are verified against the live policy page on 2026-08-26; the policy page is always the final word.

  • Return window: 30 days from the delivery date of the original purchase. Items sent back after that window are not refundable.
  • Restocking fee: returns for refund or exchange are subject to a restocking fee of up to 30%.
  • Return shipping: the customer pays all return shipping. Original shipping charges are not refundable, and refunds are issued less shipping.
  • RMA required: every return or exchange needs a Return Merchandise Authorization number, plus your name, address, phone number, and the specific reason for the return. Request it from wherever you bought the item.
  • Condition: refunds are not issued on items that come back broken, used, dirty, or otherwise abused.
  • Other brands: Crystal Quest does not accept returns or exchanges on other manufacturers' products.
