Countertop filter unit
Faucet diverter valve
Tubing (inlet and outlet)
Faucet adapter washers (various sizes)

Connecting the Faucet Diverter

The faucet diverter valve is the key component that directs water from your existing faucet to your filtration system. Follow these steps for a secure connection:

Removing Your Faucet Aerator

Unscrew the aerator from the end of your kitchen faucet by turning it counterclockwise.
Set the aerator aside in a safe place, you may need it if you relocate the filter system later.
Inspect the faucet threads to ensure they are clean and free of debris.

Attaching the Diverter Valve

Select the appropriate adapter washer that fits your faucet threads. Most standard faucets use the medium-sized washer.
Insert the washer into the diverter valve connection.
Thread the diverter valve onto your faucet by turning it clockwise until hand-tight.
Turn on the water briefly to check for leaks. If water seeps around the connection, tighten slightly or try a different adapter washer.

Ensure the filtered water spout or outlet tubing is properly secured to the outlet port (marked "OUT"), if not already in place.

First-Use Flushing Procedure

Before using your new countertop filter for drinking water, it's essential to flush the system. This process removes any carbon fines and manufacturing residue from the filter cartridges.

Turn on your cold water faucet to a moderate flow.

The water may appear slightly gray or cloudy at first, this is normal and indicates carbon fines being flushed out.
Continue flushing until the water runs completely clear.
