Without a correctly installed drain saddle:

Choosing the Right Location
Correct placement is the most important factor in a trouble-free drain saddle installation.
Install Above the P-Trap
Always install the drain saddle above the P-trap (the curved section of pipe under the sink). This location ensures proper drainage and helps prevent sewer odors from entering the cabinet area.
Garbage Disposal Considerations
If your sink has a garbage disposal:

Use the disposal’s dedicated RO drain port if one is available, or

Install the drain saddle on the drainpipe between the disposal and the P-trap

Avoid placing the saddle directly at the disposal outlet, where food debris buildup is more likely
Best Placement Practices

Step-by-Step Drain Saddle Installation
Step 1: Prepare the Area
