This quick checklist will have you up and running in minutes.
What You'll Need
- Your new filter cartridge
- Clean container, cup, or bowl for soaking
- Cold tap water
- About 15-20 minutes
Step 1: Soak and Prime the Cartridge
Priming your cartridge activates the filtration media and removes any loose carbon fines.
- Remove the cartridge from its packaging
- Submerge the cartridge in a bowl or cup of cold tap water
- Soak for 10-20 minutes to saturate the filter media
- Gently shake the cartridge underwater to release air bubbles
- Remove and rinse for a few seconds before installing
Step 2: Install the Cartridge
- Insert the primed cartridge into the filter housing
- Ensure a secure fit by pressing firmly until seated
- Reassemble your pitcher or countertop unit according to the product manual
Step 3: Discard the First Fill
The initial filtered water may still contain harmless carbon fines that give it a gray appearance.
- Fill the reservoir of the pitcher with cold tap water
- Allow water to filter through completely
- Discard this first batch - do not drink
- Repeat once more for best results
Note: After two discard cycles, your filter is ready for everyday use.

Daily Use
- Always use cold tap water - never hot
- Refill the reservoir before it empties completely
